Packing a beach week into one carry-on

The packing list we actually use: what earns suitcase space for a beach week, what stays home, and how the WIHOLL line maps onto it.

Every overpacked suitcase contains the same three ghosts: the just-in-case outfit, the second pair of jeans, and something with a dry-clean tag. A beach week needs none of them. Here is the list that fits a carry-on with room for the trip home.

The list

ItemCountWhy this number
Tanks and tees4One per two days; knits rinse in a sink and dry overnight
Dresses2One casual, one for dinners; both roll to nothing
Matching set1Doubles as the airport outfit and the lazy-day outfit
Long sleeve layer1Planes are cold; so are beach evenings after nine
Bottoms2Shorts plus one light pant; tops carry the variety

Rolling beats folding, with one exception

Knits roll: tanks, tees, jersey dresses, lounge sets. Roll them tight and stand them upright like files, so you can see everything without digging. The exception is anything with a crisp finish: lay those flat on top of the rolls, folded once.

Our line leans into this style of packing on purpose: light knits, no structure to crush, nothing that needs an iron on arrival.

Questions about fit or fabric on any piece above: the answers usually live in common questions, and the style planner can slice the rack another way.
